Dr Mwansa has been the Chair person of the Schistosomiasis and Soil
Transmitted Helminths Control Task Force in Zambia since 2000. He helped to
formulate the Control Action Plan for Zambia, working with colleagues and
struggling sometimes for years. He also worked with School Health and
Nutrition Programme to promote a wider acceptance of the STH programme and
is now the SCI. Member of the National Epidemic Preparedness, Prevention and
Control Committee. He is Honorary Lecturer at the University of Zambia,
School of Medicine. |
Profile of Faith Mbiko Nchito, Co-ordinator at the Central Board of
Health
Faith
Mbiko Nchito is currently coordinating the activities of the Schistosomiasis
control programme under the Central Board of Health in Zambia. She joined
the Department of Pathology and Microbiology of the University Teaching
Hospital in 1993, and her duties include routine diagnostic work, research
and teaching. From 1995 until 1996 she studied for her Masters in Public
Health at the University of Zambia, and in 1999 she was awarded a Diploma in
Research Methodology at the Danish Bilharziasis Laboratory. Since 2001 she
has been a doctoral research student in Parasitology registered with the
Danish Bilharziasis Laboratory. |
