Dr Ursuline S Nyandindi (PhD)
was appointed as the national coordinator for the Schistosomiasis Control
Initiative in Tanzania Mainland in 2003. She has coordinated the School
Deworming Project supported by World Food Programme (WFP) and World Health
Organization (WHO) in Tanzania since 2001. Dr Nyandindi is the Manager for
National School Health Programme (NSHP) in the Ministry of Health in
Tanzania Mainland from 1998. |

Mr Hamad Juma Haji, SCI Coordinator, Zanzibar
|

Hamad Juma Haji is the
national coordinator for the Schistosomiasis Control Initiative in Zanzibar.
He is the Head of Parasitology at the Ivo de Carneri Public Health
Laboratory on Pemba Island, where he has been based since 2000. He is an
outstanding field manager. His previous experience includes 20 years
managing the Zanzibar Malaria and HIV/AIDS Control Programs. He has
benefited from postgraduate studies in parasitology and epidemiology at the
School of Tropical Medicine at Liverpool University in the UK and Tulane
School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine in the USA. He has also
attended professional training courses in Russia, Switzerland and the
Netherlands. |
